David Bowie Record Covers

The following are a set of David Bowie Record covers. After listing to his music, I created the typeface “Dis-Connected,” and used it to create a series of record covers. The record covers themselves are all typographical, and the inner sleeves have original artwork created with charcoal, pen, and ink. The David Bowie logo was created while making the record covers. The orange was taken from the color of his wig in the music video, “Life on Mars.” To contrast this, the color purple is used in all of the artwork. Purple, a combination of pink and blue, colors that typically represent females and males is used. This is because David Bowie played with identity and androgyny, and purple really represents him as an artist.
