The intention of the redesign is to express the words of the poem while pairing with a carefully curated selection of black and white photos by American photographers such as Ansel Adams, Minor White, Robert Frank and Imogen Cunningham etc. This book is printed on Crest natural white paper, and is Japanese stitched by hand and french bound. This book was set in Mercury, a serif typeface family designed by Jonathan Hoefler and Tobias Frere-Jones in 1996.
