The students were asked to turn everyday objects from different decades within the last century into fashion accessories that emulate the essence of a given era.
For my project, I was assigned a small, antique chandelier. Taking inspiration from Burlesque and Flapper dancers from the late 1920s, I deconstructed the chandelier and turned into a showtime headpiece, a bag and body jewelry.
All three pieces were on display in a glass case on 58th street and Madison Avenue, from October through November 2018.
