Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a botanical garden in the borough of Brooklyn in New York City. It is an urban botanic garden that connects people to the world of plants, fostering delight and curiosity while inspiring an appreciation and sense of stewardship of the environment. Echo to BBG’s mission, the maps and signage system is designed to encourage people to walk, bike and feature all different species of plants and major landmarks in BBG. I wanted the signage to help create a sense of place and capture the charm and the romance of the natural world. In order to help visitors and staff to find their way easier and clearer, A range of map sign and signage types have been designed for the various natural environments and will be located near the crossroads or intersections of BBG. For the new identity, I drew a linear illustration of the most famous landmark Steinhardt Conservatory in BBG as a logomark. The primary typeface Monsarrat, which matches the modern and urban personality of BBG, was chosen to reflect the visual impression and intuitive feeling brought by BBG to tourists.
