Overwatch is a "first person shooter" video game that once had extremely high levels of female gamer engagement. But due to ongoing sexual harassment during gameplay, those numbers dropped. With the launch of Overwatch 2, we're going to be bringing back our female warriors with a new system called Tag of Shame. When a player vocally harasses another player, our A.I. - a combination of voice recognition and gameplay monitoring - will detect the malicious words instantly. Offenders’ profile pictures will be replaced by mugshots showing the types of crimes they've committed, revealing their true identities. Electronic anklets will also be attached to the offenders’ characters, allowing opposing teams to monitor these toxic players.
