I created a simple and small composition every day for one month. Each scene was inspired by an event that occurred during the day. I limited my materials to recycled cardboard, red paper, strips from an old book, and greyscale images. At the time I was taking John Ruggeri's collage class so I was very into mixed media. During this time I was going through some relationship problems and it really felt like my brain was in a blender from the stress. Being able to sit down and glue things together, attaching relevant phrases and even modifying them to get my message across helped me to cope. I started by printing a plethora of random images I found attractive, and using them as my starting point for each composition. The process came very natural, it was not difficult at all. Most of these lines are from the book "I cannot forgive" by Rudi Vrba. It is an incredible story about the Holocaust and his amazing escape from Auschwitz. I loved the few emotional snippets I found from the shredded rag of a book so much that I bought another copy and read it over. I highly recommend you read it too.
