A redesign of WWII novels known as
“Danziger Trilogie” by Günter Grass.
Featuring a custom typeface
based off a 1932 Hitler Campaign poster. Working with only 6 letters, I recreated the vintage typeface which I found to be extremely satisfying even if working with the anchor points was tedious at times. After completing the typeface, I created a stencil of the font conceived with spray paint and scanned. In WWII, graffiti was one way revolutionaries expressed their dismay at war propaganda. To me using a stencil seemed historically appropriate, and it helped me create an engaging book jacket that reflected the Turbulence expressed through the series.
