This series of illustrations tells real stories of what happened in China in February 2020. It's my way of saying thank you to all of the front line workers who have sacrificed their time and lives. The first illustration: Dr. Liu is a director of Wuchang Hospital in Wuhan. He led the hospital's medical staff, and tested positive for covid-19. While he was in ICU, his wife, Ms. Cai, wanted to take care of him, but she couldn’t because she is also a doctor. She had to treat patients. After Dr. Liu passed away, his wife cried as she ran after the car containing his body. The second illustration: An old man was responsible for testing the body temperature of people who entered the area. The snow was very heavy, but he didn't let that stop him from doing his job. This story illustrates how many people were making personal efforts to protect other people from the coronavirus.
