Puerto Rico is a US territory, not a state. Its 3 million citizens are not allowed to vote for President, nor do they have any say in government beyond a nonvoting representative. They are divided on the issue of statehood. While I believe it is up to the people of Puerto Rico to decide whether they want statehood, independence, or an enhanced commonwealth, this project reflects a campaign for statehood.
