Gaia is a film festival that aims to bring together like-minded individuals to highlight and educate on environmental problems happening around the world. When environmental activism is mentioned, oftentimes images of hippies, radical PETA activists, and the color green would come to mind. Being aware of these preconceptions, I wanted to create an identity system that shies away from the cliché and instead is subtle and sophisticated, but still feels warm and earthy. The cutout lines symbolize resources being removed from the earth.
