MOSS

MOSS MOSS MOSS MOSS MOSS MOSS
8.5" x 11" Silkscreen Book / "Greening in the dark, longing for north, the silence of birds gone south." -Bruce Guernsey. I saw some mosses in the mountains outside Manhattan on a Sunday afternoon. They looked like floating spirits and were distributed everywhere by Mother Nature. Mosses have a type of "darkness" that stays neutral, quiet but mystical, visually and spiritually. The experience with mosses reminds me of "research," a process of wandering freely. Usually, research leads to an ultimate target, but if we weaken the part of "targeting" and strengthen the role of "wandering," we will become mosses. “A poem is a piece of writing in which the words are chosen for their beauty….” Collins dictionary. Images could also be poetic and have less specific representatives than language. If I create "poems" with images or mixed media, the understanding boundary will expand. The book has two axes, X and Y. People can read it from both directions. I used silkscreen to print on a reflective "silver" texture. Reflective surface records moments and enables the content to change every second when people move it. The book generates an inner universe, just like mosses, by interacting with countless environments over time. 26 pages / *The Circular Ruins, Jorge Luis Borges / *Wikipedia
