MÁLÀ (pronunciation of the Chinese word “Spicy”) PROJECT is a Michelin Bib Gourmand-recommended Chinese restaurant in NYC. MÁLÀ DRY POT, meaning numb spicy stir-fry pot, is a wok-fried (super high heat) pot composed of spices and different kinds of ingredients. It’s kind of like a dry version of hot pot, but fried with dipping sauce.
It is originally from Chongqing and became super popular throughout China. It is usually considered as the “down to earth” street food, just like hot pot and Chinese BBQ.
