A24 is an American independent entertainment company that specializes in film and television production, as well as film distribution. It is based in New York City. In 2013, A24 entered a deal with Amazon Prime, where A24-distributed films would be available on Amazon Instant Video after becoming available on DVD and Blu-ray.
In the past, people always watched movies using DVD player because the movie producers or companies sold movies via DVD. And as demand for DVDs has plummeted, video streaming has risen in its place. Why do DVDs and Blu-rays still exist? The answer is simple: Some people still buy them—though not necessarily who you’d think. Those aged 25 to 39 are more likely than most to watch DVDs, according to the MPAA. And they’re often collectors, locked into building out their collections. The quality of Blu-Ray is guaranteed. Streaming quality is not. A Blu-ray disc obviously doesn’t rely on the internet, so its quality is always perfect even if the internet is completely down. But best of all, if you have a physical Blu-Ray, you never have to worry about your favorite movies “leaving” the streaming service where you watch them.
