This is the title sequence of the famous short novel the necklace (La Parure) wroten by Guy de Maupassant.
The story is about a young civil servant's wife who borrows a string of diamond necklaces from a friend to show off her beauty to attend a party. Unexpectedly, the necklace is lost on the way home. She had to borrow money to buy a new necklace to return to her friend. In order to repay the debt, she scrimped and worked for others as a short-time worker for ten years. Finally, she learns that the necklace she borrowed was originally a string of fake diamond necklaces.
