Another Day of Sound is a dynamic and immersive project that explores the sounds of daily life through kinetic typography. Using the variable font family named ‘Thunder,’ the project showcases the intricate relationship between motion and sound by visualizing the sound tones, pitch, and loudness in a series of moving letterforms.
To create a cohesive and immersive experience, I used a color scheme of Class Black, Industrial Gray, Original White, and Pop Yellow. Gray and white are used for lower and single sounds, respectively, while yellow and black add different layers of sounds. The motion of the letterforms is shown based on the sound’s speed or rate of change, creating a sense of peace or relaxation, energizing movement or activity, and urgency or excitement.
