Infringe is a boutique magazine hyper-focused on hair, art, fashion, and culture. Its digital publication shares the works of unique artists, sculptors, and hair stylists. Hair and hair styling is a tried-and-true art form whose unique history sprawls centuries. I created a magazine layout for a Summer 2022 print issue of the magazine. The piece is 8” W x 14” H and includes three unique spreads.
I was inspired by the strong contrast of black and red in the works of prolific artist Hyunwoo Lee. I wanted to recreate the powerful visual impact Lee showcased in his photographs, and proceeded with bold colors and typefaces. It’s always inspirational to see the work of individual artists in distinct industries; it encourages me to find and develop new ideas. Lee’s multi-dimensional approach to creating unique, hyper-modern art paved the way for me, as well as other artists in the industry.
