I designed a series of posters for three classical music concerts held in Carnegie Hall. The posters include information pertaining to the specific show, such as the date, location, and the orchestra that will be performing. I challenged myself by only being allowed to use the Helvetica type family for all text.
My posters were approximately 15” W x 20” H. I knew that having a grid system that allows us to divide a given area into halves, thirds, fourths, or sixths is extremely important. This is helpful in creating consistency as well as balance in my design. It is also helpful to have a clear focal point, which I achieved by having a clear contrast with the scale of the typeface in my design.
