Vladimir Horowitz, one of the 20th century’s most renowned pianists, is celebrated for his emotive performances and association with Romanticism. This project highlights three pivotal moments in his career. The first album reflects his 1936 Paris recital, followed by a health crisis that forced a three-year hiatus until his triumphant return in 1939. The second album captures his 1953 retirement due to health challenges and his legendary 1965 Carnegie Hall comeback, hailed as one of the greatest in classical music history. The third album focuses on his emotional return to Russia in 1986 at the age of 83, ending a 60-year exile and reaffirming his profound connection to his roots. The design draws from Romanticism to represent these milestones, using evolving brush strokes to symbolize the growth of Horowitz’s identity. Starting subtle and restrained, the strokes become more expressive with each album, mirroring the deepening of his artistic legacy. A custom typeface complements this evolution, transforming from delicate and understated to bold and intricate, reflecting his journey as one of history’s most iconic pianists.
