This project visualizes the manifesto of Chindogu, a Japanese design philosophy that embraces inventions that are “useless but somehow useful.” The series consists of three interactive posters. The first can be torn and folded into an origami fortune teller, playfully revealing the 10 Tenets of Chindogu. The second transforms into a paper airplane as the scattered letters come together through folding. The third features a seemingly chaotic layout of words, but upon closer look, reveals instructional gray text for folding and red text that spells out the tenets. Each poster turns absurdity into engagement, reflecting the spirit of Chindogu through physical interaction.
