The Giacometti Foundation, based in Paris, was established to honor and support research on the renowned sculptor Alberto Giacometti. Known for his existentialist approach, Giacometti explored themes of solitude and anxiety through elongated, fragile human figures that appear stripped of flesh. Inspired by this philosophy, a custom typeface was created around the concept of “stripping away,” with letterforms that appear carved or eroded over time. This visual language was extended into a broader design system, resulting in a rebranding that reflects Giacometti’s aesthetic of existential fragility and minimalism.
