Life and Death Of A Star is an educational parody video created with the goal of sparking astronomical curiosity in a younger audience. The illustrations do not aim to be scientifically accurate, but rather capture the magical beauty of space. What transforms the video is the heavy filter reminiscent of a mix of 80s TV glow and grainy telescope footage overlaid over the entire animation—achieved through a series of After Effects techniques including chromatic aberration, lens distortion, vignette layering, and lens-flipping transitions. Addionally, 3D crystals modeled during a two-day Blender sprint were composited seamlessly into within After Effects.
