This project explores icon design through the Maelstrom typeface by Klim Type Foundry. Chosen for its dramatic contrast and expressive forms, Maelstrom served as a foundation for transforming typographic elements into iconography. Key features—such as bold weights, delicate stems, and fluid curves—were analyzed and reinterpreted to create a cohesive icon system that visually aligns with the typeface. By blurring the boundary between letterform and icon, the project establishes a unified visual language, later expanded into posters and typographic experiments.
