A 10x10-inch, coffee-table–style book created in honor of Black History Month, exploring identity through both legacy and harm within Black American history. The project documents politically driven, systematic violence against historically marginalized Black Americans in the United States, cataloging activists, victims, communities, laws, and movements while also honoring the legacies that endure beyond oppression. Through researched historical events and archival imagery, I created an image-and-text narrative divided into LEGACY and HARM. The book examines injustice and government-sanctioned force, emphasizing that Black histories, contributions, and experiences that will always be important.
