WHEN PAIN SLEEPS is a speculative design project that explores a dystopian future where humanity has lost the biological capacity to feel pain. Inspired by the creator’s personal experience with sensory decline, the work investigates how modern technology, opioid reliance, and social pressures act as "anesthetics" that dull human perception. By weaving together medical research and sociological speculation, the project critiques the loss of bodily autonomy and the rise of a new, transcendental "divinity" born from a sensory void.
