This project reimagines the NYFF identity through a contemporary visual system inspired by the classic film countdown and the restless rhythm of New York City, centered on the metaphor of an attentive, enthusiastic eye. The concept captures the tense moment just before a film begins, when the projection light flickers and the audience waits in silence.
The logo and graphic system are constructed from subtle curved inktraps and line-weight variations, simultaneously inspired by the refraction of light passing through both a projector lens and the human cornea.
