Renzo Piano’s structural language inspires me: each level is bolder than the one below. Like contemporary art itself, the Whitney expands outward—across media, audiences, and neighborhoods. I take “expansion” as my core metaphor: from a clear point of view, I keep extending into community, education, and knowledge-making until we move in step with the city. Every exhibition and every project adds a new point of entry—expanding the public space for American art.
