Foundation is the refined evolution of two typefaces I’ve designed in the past. It is a high contrast slab serif typeface that is both structural and soft. Foundation has sharp angles that are softened with sloping brackets. Inspiration came from architectural elements of Art Deco and modern era buildings along with industrial design from Dieter Rams and Jony Ive. Foundation works best at large sizes where the high contrast between thick and thin and small details can be seen.
