William S. Burroughs has said that Naked Lunch is meant to be read in any order. At times both grotesque and beautiful, this non-linear narrative makes leaps in time, place and logic constantly. This book set breaks up the exhausting novel in 10 parts, so it can be read in any order, though the order is implied if one wishes to read that way.
The letters of the title and every few pages of text are slightly fractured as a nod to the chaotic nature of the novel.
