IFC airs independent movies and television series. I was initially inspired by their slogan "Always On, Slightly Off" and thought of the many ways this phrase could be interpreted. I eventually came to the idea of using a beckoning cat to embody this slogan because of the figure's constant arm movement (i.e. "Always On") and then set the movement slightly off. All other elements in the scene also reflect this theme.
