One of Sue Kaufman’s most popular novels, Diary of a Mad Housewife, was later made into a movie, follows an educated frustrated housewife and mother in a loveless marriage. Fear of Flying, by Erica Jong, is narrated by its married protagonist, through life as she explores her sexual fantasies with another man. All three authors use a strong female in each of their books. Allowing the reader to understand and be aware of the desires and lives of many women.
