Half-sisters Jasmin and Maritza, a Black lawyer and Latina stripper, and Maritza’s son Isaiah live in an old tenement flat in a gentrifying impoverished area. Their landlord, Robert Pressman, is trying to vacate all of his tenants for his own development. Having lived in the tenement since their childhood, Jasmin and Maritza refuse to move being deeply attached to their cherished home and neighborhood. In response, Mr. Pressman devises a harrowing plan to try and throw out his tenants.
