CUNY is the third-largest university system in the United States, in terms of enrollment. More than 540,000 students are enrolled at campuses located in all five New York City boroughs. The university has one of the most diverse student bodies in the United States, with students hailing from 208 countries with large ranges of personalities.
I wanted to develop a system that would keeping
focus on emphasizing the range of characters that
the university’s campuses are comprised of. I used
a woodtype and humanist-type and meshed them
together to represent this range.
And later used brackets from typefaces to keep the
identity of campuses but to keep in a cohesive
system with the university.
