Case and point: MTA Mobile is the entire NYC subway system in an app intended to replace the current system. Designed with streamlined simplicity, this app is all about function and utility. The user would refer to this tool only a couple times a day, and wouldn't need to look at it for more than a few seconds. This app uses NFC technology and the idea is that the MTA would add NFC terminals to existing turnstiles so all a user would need to do is simply walk by the terminal with the app running. The goal of the app is to increase efficiency and alleviate headaches commonly associated with the current system.
