In this project, we want to create a typographic message for the environment. As my friend and I teamed up and worked together, we noticed that many New Yorkers always ignore the surroundings they have to pass by everyday. We came up with an idea from observing the streets. We found out that there are many drain covers with different grids and patterns, and they always are being stepped on by people thus giving a negative impression. We went to Long Island City and Brooklyn and painted different positive quotes on top of the covers to give them new meaning, cheer people up and add some bright colors to the neighborhood.
