India is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, however, it lies dirty and carelessly littered because of the lack of understanding about the consequences of littering. The part of the population that is uneducated is unable to even realise that dropping a wrapper, for example, is harmful in a variety of different ways.
Sappha, the anti-littering campaign for India is designed with the hopes of all people being able to understand and comprehend the message. This is done by making use of the grid that the logo is built on by allowing both the Hindi and English letterforms to sit comfortably, and also allowing for the creation of an iconography set that can be understood by the illiterate as well. Sappha means tidy.
