The Odyssey is one of the oldest works of literature in the world. Through history it has been interpreted and featured in many different ways. I wanted to make The Odyssey modern but still classical. This version features intermittent illustrations made through code, part of which is printed on top of the illustration thus partly legible. The page layout is set to the golden ratio to hint back at classical books.
During this project I learned some basic coding in Javascript, which I am still exploring more and more. I also researched and learned more about how to create grids from the type and leading point size. This research was applied to the layout of the piece.
