Creating a poster for an event or exhibit you’ve never been to is always a challenge. This was the case with the Coney Island Mermaid Parade. Since I didn’t know what the Mermaid Parade was, I started with research. As I opened up more and more images, I felt like they created an interesting visual on their own. In the end the research process became the idea and the poster took shape.
