Music video for commissioned experimental music by Simon Martinez.
Anxiety and sensuality, hunger and self-sufficiency, liquid and solid, porous and impenetrable. In this short film, recalling the early film experiments of Hans Richter and other Dadaists, seemingly opposing impulses play and spar with each other. Through images of melting, pulling, stretching, frying and stroking, the viewer is invited to allow strong feelings of trepidation, desire and disgust to occur in fast succession — submitting to the manipulations of hyper-edited footage and foreboding sound.
