On the finale season of “Ballers,” the lead character took ownership of the Kansas City Chiefs and fought tooth and nail against the NFL to get players access to lifetime healthcare. My concept is to create another season of the show in partnership with the NFL, that would actually make a lasting change and institute a lifetime healthcare policy for the players. Gold Rush is a way to bring the show into real life by creating new team jerseys and build a new tradition of Gold Rush games throughout the NFL season. Gold Rush games would be played in “Ballers” inspired jerseys that are only on sale to the public for that night. All sales of these jerseys are pooled together to build a healthcare fund for all eligible NFL players. The NFL and the Player Care foundation have had a history of being for the league rather than the players and through “Ballers” they are changing the narrative.
