With the concept of a literal blackout in mind, I used that unfortunate circumstance as an analogy for the title and concept of my magazine. This magazine highlights black culture including the arts, struggles, accomplishments, histories, and consciousness-raising within black communities; while not only reprogramming the way the media portrays us, but also how we view ourselves. There will be no room for anything other than Black Excellence.
