In designing a magazine about lemons, I decided to focus on the usage of lemon imagery in Dutch paintings in the 1600s. I researched fine art paintings and was interested by the inscription stickers that are placed behind the paintings to indicate information about the painting. By emulating the inscriptions and typography, I relay information about the significance of lemons in the Dutch economy and society, as well as the prominence of lemons in Dutch paintings.
