I designed a 3D special invitation for the show ON & OF ITSELF, which was written and performed at the Broadway Theatre by the author and magician Derek DelGaudio. This show is about exploring ourselves, and the accidental random nature of self-knowledge.
The most memorable part for me was when Derek, the host of the show, asked audience members to write something down on a card. It was such an unpredictable way for them to express themselves that I decided to make the concept of randomness the major point of my special invitation, which was broken into pieces and rolled up like a newspaper.
Following an old tradition of distributing newspapers to homes, the invitations would be delivered to front doors. When people picked up and unrolled the invitations, they would discover random pieces of information that would lead them to the show.
