X Museum celebrates new ideas and a multiplicity of cultures, aiming to create an inclusive place both on-site and in the virtual domain—a connecting point between thinking from different backgrounds and disciplines, across geography and ethnicity. Based on critical perspectives and experimental concepts, X Museum is committed to cultivating and supporting emerging artists within a global context while embracing innovative practices.
I developed a type-centric visual identity for X Museum. The interesting thing about the museum is that they are holding exhibitions in two different spaces, physical and virtual. The core value I defined for the museum is the intersection and coexistence of two dimensions. The visual concept started from a thought experiment: how to juxtapose the physical and virtual spaces in the same dimension.
By twisting, we can see both worlds aligned together, so I created a typeface relating to the idea of twisted dimensions. The type-centric approach instantly made the visual system recognizable and different.
