In the project, my core idea was irony. I pondered how to make a brand of sanitary pads ironic yet comfortable for women to purchase without feeling self-conscious. Instead of marking it with “Period,” I chose a name that suggests taking a breather, hence the birth of “Comma.” The things written on the packaging are the damages women suffer nowadays due to menstruation. Of course, menstruation is tough, but it’s nothing to be ashamed of. We use “Comma,” not “Period.”
