I chose the opening song from the anime Samurai Champloo by Nujabes and Shing02, drawing inspiration from its fusion of jazz and hip-hop and its exploration of inner struggle, movement, and identity. The typography I created blends Japanese calligraphy with modern glitch aesthetics, and I intentionally cropped and fragmented the letterforms to make the type more expressive and artistic rather than a traditional calligraphic style.
