Nearly 80 years ago my mother's family owned and operated a bakery in Spanishtown, Jamaica. Having recently emigrated from China to escape its oppressive regime, the bakery represented for them a symbol of hope and rebirth. They delightfully combined the two vastly different cultures to create a truly unique experience.
