the intersection of environmentalist practices and new urbanist theory and policy is personally important to me as I continue to live in one of the most notable cities in the world – one that is certainly not without its problems and critiques. Civis is a New York-based magazine featuring three distinct sections of content: nurturing life (the environmentalist), urban society (the urbanist), and sustainable action, which focuses on changes to existing city infrastructure that can be implemented in a way to serve both the environment and the people inhabiting it.
