The biggest misconception about the homeless is that they don't interact with the digital world. In reality, 62% of homeless youth have cell phones, which allow them to stay connected to the world and are critical to securing and maintaining employment.
There's a lot of scattered information when it comes to searching for resources the city has to offer the homeless. When searching for information, people often get sent to dead links and outdated information. My team's solution is Citybase, an organization whose mission is to compile all information on NYC resources that could help homeless people. With the use of LinkNYC, Citybase is accessible to all.
