Il Cucchiaio di Legno (which can be translated as The Wooden Spoon) is a family run restaurant, based entirely on long lost recipes written by the late great- grandmother of the owner. The recipes are traditional South-Italian dishes, that were adapted during the first and second World War due to the lack of funds and ingredients. The restaurant's name is a combination of the famous recipe book called “Il Cucchiaio d’ Argento”(The Silver Spoon in English), which is a high-end recipe book, and the memory of the great-grandmother always holding a wooden spoon.
For the restaurant logo, I chose to use the font Brim Narrow to give it a polished woodtype style, and the graphics are inspired by Italian Art Deco design. The two together create a very rustic appearance that is ideal for this restaurant.
